About Prescription Grazing

Many people prefer livestock grazing for weed control and/or organic matter as an alternative to chemicals. This is due to the environmental concerns caused by the widespread overuse of herbicides, which leads to chemicals such as nitrates (glyphosates) leaching into groundwater.

Depending on the objectives of the client, prescription grazing can be used to 1) eradicate weeds in an area, or 2) add organic matter, including microbes and nitrogen, to an area while keeping species of native plants in check without eradicating them from the area.
